This ‘revolver’ does not spray bullets; it plays music.
The hills of Darjeeling is alive traditionally with music. Our Revolver is a small and cozy hotel located at 110, Gandhi Road, behind the Union Chapel in Darjeeling, about 10 minutes’ walk from the Clock Tower. Chowrasta Mall is 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel.
The hotel opened in 2010 and run by a local couple, Vikas Pradhan and his wife Asenla. Both of them are music lovers, specially passionate about the English rock band Beatels, the core lineup of which comprised legendary musicians John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
“Music was the concept around which our hotel and restaurant were thought about”, says Vikas. And the hotel was named after the acclaimed seventh studio album of the Beatles, Revolver, released in 1966.
The budget hotel Revolver has five clean and comfortable upstair rooms, and one family suite on the ground floor. Double bedded rooms are named after John, George, Paul, Ringo and Brian, the famous members of the Beatles. The family suite named as Prudence comprises 2 bedrooms, 4 beds, 1 utility room, 1 toilet/bathroom, 300+ sqft on the ground floor. With rooms there is a cozy lounge on the upper floor. You may listen to music you like here with an Italian coffee or a cup of pure Darjeeling tea. There are lots of music concert and other music videos and DVDs.
Rooms are simple, gentle and pleasant. Modern amenities are well available. The cosy Restaurant with a small lounge aside is very charming. Besides Chinese and continental dishes, Nepali and Naga cuisines can be tried out here. You can be catered with interesting vegetarian food items too.
Rivolver authority deserves credit for maintaining their room tariffs pocket friendly throughout its journey compared to the ambiance the hotel maintains, amenities provided with and services. Tariff for double bedded rooms varies between Rs. 1,500-1,800 per night. Tariff for family suite Prudence is Rs. 2,300 per night.
